DR. LEIF SIGURDSON BSc, DC
Dr. Leif Sigurdson BSc, DC is a graduate of the University of Manitoba: Bachelor of Science, 1998; and the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College: Doctor of Chiropractic, 2004; recipient of the College of Chiropractic Sciences External Clinic Award.
Dr. Sigurdson began his professional practice in 2004 under the mentorship of Dr. Ron Warkman at Proactive Chiropractic & Wellness Centre. He has practiced there since while also having had the opportunity to work with several kinesiologists and physiotherapists at a part-time practice in Vancouver.
He has extensive experience in general and sports chiropractic care. From 2007 to 2015 he served as the head of the training staff and team chiropractor for the Simon Fraser University hockey team (BCIHL). Between 2005-2012 he assisted the medical team at the Vancouver International Marathon, the Sun Run and provided on site care for the University of British Columbia track team. Dr. Sigurdson regularly lectures to running groups on biomechanics and injury prevention.
Dr. Sigurdson has interest in research that stems from his belief the importance of ongoing research in improving patient care. His work on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis was published in the September 2011 edition of the Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Sigurdson enjoys an active life with his partner, Monique and their two sons, Hayden and Jonah. Hockey, hiking, trail running, skiing and camping are favourite family activities.
