Dr. Ron Warkman is the owner and director of Proactive Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. He graduated from C.M.C.C. in 1988 and began practicing in Langley, B.C. in March of 1989. He has a sports medicine and family practice with an emphasis on wellness care.

Dr. Warkman treats athletes from a number of disciplines. He has been treating runners for the past 15 years & triathletes at the Penticton Ironman for the past 9 years. He is the Chiropractor for the 6 time World Champion SFU Pipe Band and the 4 time World Champion Robert Malcolm Memorial Grade III Pipe Band from Simon Fraser University.

He works with Elite Gymnasts and MMA fighters. He has worked with members of the Canadian PGA tour as well as members of the C.P.G.A elite Junior Development Program.

Dr. Warkman has been a Certified Provider of Active Release Techniques®* (Full body and Biomechanics) since 1999 and an instructor since 2001.  He is also a member of the College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada).

Dr. Leif Sigurdson is a graduate of the University of Manitoba: Bachelor of Science, 1998; and the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College: Doctor of Chiropractic, 2004; recipient of the College of Chiropractic Sciences External Clinic Award.

Dr. Sigurdson divides his time between sports injury and general chiropractic care.  He has been head of the training staff with the Simon Fraser University men’s ice hockey team for three seasons (2007-2010) and has been part of the medical team at the Vancouver International Marathon and Sun Run events since 2006.  He has previously treated elite athletes at the World Junior Badminton Championships, the World Ultimate Frisbee Championships, the UBC track team and performers with Disney on Ice. He has provided on site care at several local running races and speaks regularly to running groups on injury prevention. Dr. Sigurdson’s professional involvement in athletic injuries is a natural extension of his personal participation in sports.

Dr. Sigurdson has been an associate at Proactive Chiropractic and Wellness Centre and a certified provider (full body) of Active Release Techniques* since 2005.

Dr. Brenna Jacks earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Victoria. Her studies focused on Genetics and Animal Biology. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, Ontario.

Dr. Jacks maintains a general practice and enjoys creating individualized treatment plans for her patients. She uses acupuncture in her practice for many conditions such as headaches, infertility and pain management.

Dr. Jacks holds professional memberships with the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA) and the Canadian Naturopathic Association (CNA). She is licensed in BC through the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC)



 

 

James Brise RMT is a Registered Massage Therapist and a graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. His skills in myo-fascial release; trigger point therapy; craniosacral; traditional Swedish massage; deep tissue massage; muscle energy techniques; and, isometric release techniques enable him to address many different patient concerns and to provide them with a variety of treatment options.

He enjoys the challenge of working with his patients to create treatment and management plans that suit their levels of ability and their lives.

James is familiar with effective treatments for conditions ranging from headaches and back pain to facilitating postoperative recovery. He firmly believes that treatment needs to be patient specific, but also patient driven; hence his treatments involve not only hands on time, but education time as well.

James continues his education with regular upgrade courses, focusing on injury rehabilitation.
